Second-generation S10s still shipped with a pogo stick prop rod. This kit swaps it for gas struts on a 1994–2004 Chevy or GMC S10, Blazer or Jimmy, giving you smoother opening, better damping, and a hood that sits several inches higher when it's up.
If you work under the hood of a 1994-2004 S10, Blazer or Jimmy, the kit gets the prop rod out of the way and holds the hood up on its own. The firewall and hood mounting brackets are laser cut, and the hood-mounted ball brackets bolt up with no welding.

Figure on 20 to 30 minutes. The hood brackets bolt up. On 1994-2004 trucks each fender bracket is held with two rivets, and the rivets and a pilot drill come in the kit; on 1982-1993 trucks the fender brackets screw into the factory inner fenders.

Love how it works….my only concern was hood doesn’t open as high as with prop rod…is that something I did wrong ??
