About 1955-59 Chevy GMC Task Force Truck Parts

The 1955-1959 Chevy and GMC pickups are the Task Force trucks, and Chevrolet marketed the 1958-59 models as the Apache 31 and 32. The redesigned cab and wraparound windshield set them apart from the Advance Design trucks that came before, and they are the reason parts do not carry over from 1954. Everything on this page is cataloged to this body style, whether you call it Task Force or Apache.

Bead rolled sheet metal we make ourselves

The panels this generation loses first, formed in our shop to the factory contour:

  • Bead rolled firewalls and toe boards, sold separately or as full panel combos
  • Gas filler deletes for a smoother rear fender line
  • Speaker brackets cut to the factory openings
  • Billet tailgate hardware, trunnion and hinge kits — see all our tailgate upgrades

Doors, glass and the things that wear out

Altman door latches and the striker block upgrade tighten up a door that no longer closes solid, and Nu-Relic power window kits replace the crank mechanism without cutting the door. A RainGear hidden windshield wiper system moves the motor and linkage out of sight, which matters more on this cowl than most.

Interior and lighting

Billet AC and heater vents, Custom Autosound radios built for the factory dash opening with matching dash and kick panel speakers, and United Pacific LED tail light and headlight upgrades that bolt into the stock housings. White Wolf’s ABS interior panels and the upholstered interior kit both cover the 1955 first-series cab, so check which series you have before ordering.

If this is not your era

Task Force replaced Advance Design partway through 1955 and gave way to the 1960-66 C/K, GM’s first pickup on a dedicated truck platform. Neither shares this cab.
