About Hidden Fuel Filler Kits
A stock fuel filler sitting in the bed floor or behind a fender flap breaks up an otherwise clean, custom-built truck. LS Fabrication’s hidden fuel filler kit relocates the gas cap into the taillight housing instead, hiding it from view entirely. Each kit includes an 18-gauge laser-cut steel housing and a 316 stainless steel filler neck with a laser-engraved LS logo, flip-up cap, and retaining chain — polished to a finish that holds up next to chrome trim. Fitments are available for 1967-72 C10, 1973-91 Squarebody, and 1988-98 OBS trucks, plus a universal 1.5″ polished stainless filler neck for builds outside those years. Installation requires welding the housing into the taillight pocket and extending your taillight wiring — this isn’t a bolt-in kit, and fuel line or plumbing to connect the filler to your tank isn’t included, so budget time and parts accordingly. It also isn’t compatible with vapor-seal gas pump nozzles used in some states, including California. If your setup checks out, it’s the cleanest way to lose the visible fuel door for good.
