About 1999-2006 Chevy GMC NBS Truck Parts & Accessories

The 1999-2006 Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra were built on GM’s GMT800 platform. Enthusiasts call them NBS, short for New Body Style, the name they picked up as the replacement for the 1988-98 OBS trucks. The same body carried on for one more year as the 2007 Silverado Classic and Sierra Classic, so those trucks belong here too. With an LS-family V8 under the hood from the factory, the NBS has become one of the most popular platforms for lowered street trucks, and that is the kind of build this catalog is aimed at.

Tailgate hardware

Most of what we make for this platform is at the back of the truck:

  • The Gate Saver strut in the 99-06 fitment, so the tailgate lowers under control instead of dropping hard on its cables
  • A tailgate trunnion hinge kit with Delrin bearings and stainless plates, in removable or anti-theft form
  • The rest of the range is on the tailgate upgrades page

Under the hood

The 99-06 hood strut kit swaps the factory hood springs for Stabilus gas struts on laser cut steel mounting plates, so the hood opens and closes smoothly instead of fighting a tired spring. It is built for steel hoods. For an engine bay that is getting dressed up, the LS-swap billet serpentine kits bolt to the same LS-family engines these trucks left the factory with.

Custom bed work

Tilt bed scissor hinge kits and electric lifts for a tilting bed floor, plus universal wheel tubs for a truck that has been laid out over big wheels. These are universal-fit rather than NBS-specific, so they carry across if the truck changes.

Everything else

The universal billet and finishing parts that suit a 1999-2006 truck: dash knobs, the billet shorty antenna, AC vents and control panels, and the rest of the billet aluminum parts and universal truck parts and accessories ranges.

If this is not your truck

NBS replaced the 1988-98 OBS on the GMT400 platform. The heavy-duty and crew cab GMT400 trucks stayed in production into 2000, so a 1999 or 2000 truck can be either body; our Chevy truck VIN decoder covers the OBS years. If you are on the compact side of the lineup instead, see S10 truck parts.
