About Classic Chevy Truck Parts

LS Fabrication makes classic Chevy truck parts for Chevrolet and GMC pickups from 1947 to 1998, plus the S10 and the Ford F100. Most of what you see here is built in our own shop: laser-cut and bead-rolled sheet metal, billet aluminum hardware, and bolt-in upgrades like hidden fuel fillers, hood struts and tailgate savers. The rest comes from suppliers we trust for the same trucks.

Shop by generation

Old Chevy trucks are sorted by generation because that's what decides fit. A 1956 and a 1966 are both vintage Chevy trucks, but almost none of their body parts interchange. Start with yours:

Chevy and GMC

GMC pickups of the same year share most of their cab, bed and interior parts with the Chevrolet version, which is why nearly everything here is listed for both. Grilles, badges and some trim are brand-specific, and the product page says so when that's the case.

Parts that fit every era

Some parts aren't tied to one generation. Universal truck parts such as tilt bed scissor hinges, wheel tubs and hub cap clips fit most classic pickups, and our interior parts, billet steering wheels and tailgate upgrades are grouped across generations so you can compare options side by side.

Not sure which truck you have?

Our guides explain how to tell the generations and years apart: what an OBS truck is, the square body Chevy guide, the Chevy 3100 guide and 1955 first vs second series. If you already know the year, the year links below go straight to the parts that fit it, and every product lists the years it fits.

Classic truck parts: questions builders ask

Which years count as a classic Chevy truck?

Anything from the 1947 Advance Design through the 1998 OBS. Chevy and GMC pickups are sorted here by generation, because that is what decides fit: 1947–54 Advance Design, 1955–59 Task Force, 1960–66 C10, 1967–72 C10, 1973–87 square body and 1988–98 OBS. If you are not sure what year you have, decode the VIN and it tells you.

Do GMC truck parts fit the Chevy of the same year?

Almost always. A GMC and a Chevrolet pickup from the same year share the cab, bed, doors, interior and most of the hardware, which is why nearly every part here is listed for both. Grilles, badges and some trim are brand-specific, and the product page says so when that is the case.

Are these parts made by LS Fabrication, or resold?

Both, and the product page tells you which. The laser-cut sheet metal, bead-rolled firewalls, hidden fuel filler kits, tailgate savers and billet aluminum hardware are designed and built in our own shop in Alberta. The rest of the catalogue — lighting, interior kits, radios, hardware — comes from suppliers we have used on our own trucks.

How fast do orders ship, and do you ship to the USA?

Yes — most of our customers are in the United States, and we ship across the USA and Canada. In-stock parts leave in 1–3 business days. Made-to-order sheet metal shows its lead time (usually about 4–6 weeks) on the product page before you add it to the cart.

Do I need to weld to install these parts?

Depends on the part. Hood struts, tailgate savers, billet handles, dash kits and lighting bolt on with hand tools. Firewalls, fuel filler kits and wheel tubs replace sheet metal, so they need cutting and welding. Every part with a real install has a guide and, for most, a video in the install library and on the product page.

Can I shop by the exact year of my truck?

Yes. Pick your year, make and model in the finder and the catalogue narrows to what fits — the site remembers your truck on every page. The year links at the bottom of this page go straight to each model year, from 1947 to 1998.
