Description
Nu Relics power window kits convert the front door windows on 1973–1991 Chevrolet and GMC squarebody trucks, Blazers and Suburbans to electric. The regulators are model specific, so they bolt into the original mounting holes and run in the stock window channels. You get the convenience without changing the way the door looks or works.
Features
- Kit includes two front door regulators, left and right, plus two new ACI motors.
- Model specific — bolts into the original mounting holes and uses the stock channels.
- Regulators are made on 1018 cold roll steel.
- Bronze Oilite thrust bearings at the pivots, made in the USA, keep the pivots lubricated.
- 4130 heat-treated gear plates for longer tooth life and better wear.
- Lifetime warranty, with a copy of your sales receipt or invoice.
Choose your option
- Switches: none, Nu Crank, standard chrome, black illuminated or nostalgic.
- Switch placement: in the door or in a console.
- Order a switch kit and conduit comes with it at no extra charge. Order without switches and you get motor plugs and terminals instead.
Fitment notes
The ACI motors are reverse polarity and need reverse polarity switches. If you are running old-style 3-pole switches you will need a special relay to swap the ground from side to side — it does not add amperage. We have those available prewired; call us at 336-699-8949.
Not included
- Switches. Order a switch set and the conduit comes with it at no extra charge; order without and you get motor plugs and terminals instead.
- The wiring back to the fuse panel.
- A relay, if you are reusing old-style 3-pole switches. The ACI motors are reverse polarity and need reverse polarity switches - we keep the relays prewired.
- Rear door or quarter window regulators. This kit is the two front doors.

Installation
The regulators are model specific: they bolt into the factory mounting holes and run in the stock window channels. Wiring is 30 amp — most of our harnesses come with an in-line 30 amp fuse, and a circuit breaker works too. Feed the windows straight from the battery, from a spare slot in the fuse panel, or from the key-on side of the switch. The ground has to come from the master switch, and each motor takes power on one pole and ground on the other, not to the motor case; swapping those two wires reverses the direction of travel. In most cases no relay is needed.
For lubrication, use a high-temp automotive wheel bearing and chassis grease such as NLGI grade 2 on the regulator gear teeth and roller tracks, and stay away from older soap-based lithium grease, which sets up hard in the cold. A few drops of lightweight oil at the pivots lets the bronze Oilite bushings run smoothly. 3M silicone spray helps break in the fuzzy runs and weatherstripping, and dielectric grease or Tuner Lube on the terminals keeps moisture and corrosion out.

Power Window Kit - 1973-1991 GMC/Chevy Squarebody Truck
Common questions
Do the doors have to be modified?
No. The regulators are model specific, so they bolt into the original mounting holes and run in the stock window channels. The door looks and works the same from outside.
What is in the kit?
Two front door regulators, left and right, plus two new ACI motors. Switches are a separate choice at the top of the page - order a switch kit and the conduit is included at no extra charge; order without switches and you get motor plugs and terminals instead.
Is there a warranty?
A lifetime warranty applies with a copy of your sales receipt or invoice, so keep the paperwork.
How do I know it fits my truck?
This part is listed for 1973–1991 Chevy and GMC Blazer, C10, C1500, C20, C2500, C30 and others. The full year, make and model list is in the Truck Compatibility tab on this page. If your truck has been modified, or you are between two of the year ranges we list, send us the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit before you order rather than after.
How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and leaves our warehouse in 1-3 business days. Transit after that is typically 2-5 business days in the United States. Larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it by mail. Return shipping is on you, and the part needs to come back uninstalled and unmodified - once a panel has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Made-to-order items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
