Description
Leather sleeves that slide over your tailgate chains so the links stop chewing on the tailgate and the bed sides. They are hand-stitched, and the leather picks up character as it ages instead of looking worse.
Bare tailgate chains swing and rub every time the gate is dropped, and over time that shows up as worn paint along the top of the tailgate and the inside of the box. A set of leather covers is a simple fix that also adds a finished detail to the back of the truck. They are listed for classic Chevy and GMC trucks from the 1947-54 Advance Design through the 1988-98 OBS and S10, as well as 1947-53, 1961-72 and 1973-and-later Ford trucks.

Are the chains included?
No. These are the leather covers only, sold as a pair, 12.5" long with a 0.75" inside diameter.
How do they go on?
Take the tailgate chains off, slide a cover over each one and put the chains back on.
How do I know it fits my truck?
This part is listed for 3100, 3800, Blazer, C10, C20, C30 and others. The full year, make and model list is in the Truck Compatibility tab on this page. If your truck has been modified, or you are between two of the year ranges we list, send us the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit before you order rather than after.
How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and generally ships within 1-3 business days. Carrier transit time is on top of that, and larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The part needs to come back new, uninstalled and in its original packaging - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Return shipping is at your cost, and we ask that returns come by USPS. Made-to-order, sale and clearance items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
Can I install this myself?

Awesome product!
This is a great addition to my truck, looks really sharp and the quality of the leather is good. The only thing that was not so great are the laces. They are very thin and rip easy. I ended up replacing with better quality laces. But I would highly recommend if your thinking about getting a set.
My second pair, I have black and brown on 2 different trucks …I even see people taking pictures of them. Nicely made
