These bead rolled aluminum door panels replace the original cardboard door panels in a 1947–1954 Chevrolet or GMC Advance Design cab. Cardboard gets damaged and worn out over time; aluminum holds up, and these mount in the factory location.

Fitment notes
These panels fit the same as the factory cardboard, so the protruding handle mechanism can push a slight bow into them. We recommend flipping the driver and passenger door handle mechanisms to the opposite doors, which runs the linkage in the recessed channel of the door skin. Even with that done, a slight bow remains in these or any flat panel used with factory handle mechanisms.

- Door handles, window cranks and their escutcheons.
- The protective coating on the front face is shipping protection, not a finish.

Installation
The panels mount in the factory location using the optional supplied screws.
Before you finish the fit-up, consider flipping the driver and passenger door handle mechanisms to the opposite doors. That runs the linkage in the recessed channel of the door skin and reduces the bow the handle mechanism pushes into a flat panel.

Common questions
Does the panel arrive finished, or does it need work?
It arrives laser cut and formed in raw steel, ready to be fitted. Plan on final trimming to your own truck, then prep and paint - the parts are shipped bare on purpose so you are not stripping a finish off before you weld.
Can I bolt it in instead of welding?
On most panels, yes. Several carry laser etched markings to drill from if you would rather bolt them, and customers have welded, screwed, riveted and bonded them in. Check the Features list on this page for what this particular panel is set up for.
How much trimming should I expect?
Usually a few minutes with a cut-off wheel. Fifty years of body work, previous repairs and factory tolerance mean no two cabs or beds are identical, so the panels are cut slightly generous rather than short. Test fit before any final welding.
How do I know it fits my truck?

How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and leaves our warehouse in 1-3 business days. Transit after that is typically 2-5 business days in the United States. Larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to return it by mail. Return shipping is on you, and the part needs to come back uninstalled and unmodified - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Made-to-order items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.
