Description
The gas filler delete is a formed replacement panel that fills the hole left in the passenger side of the cab when you shave the gas filler on a 1967–1972 Chevy or GMC truck. It is made to sit where the filler neck was, so you are not templating, cutting and forming a patch of your own.
Features
- Laser cut from 16 gauge steel.
- Formed to drop into the original filler neck opening.
- Welds in to shave the filler hole and give the cab a custom look.
- Straightforward enough for a do-it-yourself install.

Installation
This panel is intended to be welded in. It arrives already formed to the opening, so the work is fitting and welding rather than shaping a patch out of flat stock.

Common questions
Will it drop straight into my bed?
Expect to modify the base slightly. The panel is built to cover a range of years, and no two beds underneath it are the same - a 67-72 floor, a 73-87 floor, a wood floor and a floor with a spray-in liner all sit at different heights. That is why the part ships in raw steel, pre-formed and only tacked together, so you can adjust it to your own bed before it goes in for good.
Can it be welded in, or does it screw in?
Either. Weld it in for a seamless finish, or screw it in using the supplied stainless hardware and the three tapered mounting holes in the flange. Customers have also riveted and bonded them in. The choice is yours.
What are the filler neck dimensions?
Flange diameter 2-15/16", neck diameter 1-1/2", neck length 2-1/4". A universal fill tube joins the neck to the tank, and a side fill tank in 1.5" is the simplest thing to run it into.
Is it sealed against water?
The flip-up cap closes onto the neck face and the retaining chain keeps the cap with the truck, but this is a fuel filler, not a watertight hatch. Anything mounted in a bed floor will see water sitting on it, so seal the panel to the floor when you fit it and treat the cap as a fuel cap rather than a gasketed lid.
How do I know it fits my truck?
This part is listed for 1967–1972 Chevy and GMC Blazer, C10, C20, C30, Jimmy, K10 and others. The full year, make and model list is in the Truck Compatibility tab on this page. If your truck has been modified, or you are between two of the year ranges we list, send us the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit before you order rather than after.
How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and leaves our warehouse in 1-3 business days. Transit after that is typically 2-5 business days in the United States. Larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
