Tailgate Cables – 73-87 GMC Chevy Squarebody C10 Truck
Our New Tailgate cables replace your old noisy metal tailgate straps on your classic truck. This direct replacement cable are an easy 5 minute install. No more rattles, rust and or paint flaking off.
*Please measure your current strap length to verify someone hasn't swapped out the tailgate, latches and or striker plates with ones from a different year.
- ★ 1973-75 is 15.5" from center of eyelet to center of slotted pin on tailgate. Reference picture.
- ★ 1976-87 is 16" from center of eyelet to center of slotted pin on tailgate.
Cables come with all necessary mounting hardware.
- ★ If you're using our Gen 1 Gate saver (Bigger Diameter: 18.3mm) 1 Cable is needed (passenger side).
- ★ If using our Gen 2 Gate Saver (Smaller Diameter: 15.3mm) 2 Cables can be used (one on each side of your tailgate).
May require slight filing on slotted end due to slight variances in slot width
