LS Fabrications "Gate Saver" or Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut 1981-1987 GMC Chevy Truck adds a little bit of modern luxury to your classic Squarebody truck.
The LS Fab "Gate Saver" slows the tailgate opening action allowing your tailgate to open freely after unlatching. You can now have a tailgate that opens, closes and latches like a brand new Chevy pickup.
Our Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut 1981-1987 GMC Chevy Truck kit includes:

- ★ 2x balls studs
- ★ LS Fab Stainless Support Bracket
- ★ Jam nut for an easy install.
- ★ Works with tailgate cables on both sides of the tailgate
**Removing your factory link arm will lessen the ability of your tailgate to handle a lot of weight**

Thank you got it installed and wow like a champ my tailgate is rhino spray inside and out so it was always a little heavy now it is smooth and tailgate cables are outstanding good Job keep thinking up square body stuff John b
Very nice kit with quality parts. Mine doesn’t open as slow as the ones in the video. Mine still falls a little hard. Still a nice product and I would recommend it to others. Customer service is great to work with.
