Description

The Altman Easy Hood Latch replaces the factory hood latch on 1967–1972 Ford F-100 trucks with a rotary claw mechanism. The stock latch is bulky, and once it is worn the hood needs a shove or a slam to catch. This one closes smoothly and catches the same way every time.

Features

  • Vehicle-specific bolt-on design for the 1967–1972 Ford hood latch.
  • Rotary claw latch mechanism.
  • Case-hardened internal components.
  • Precision-machined billet striker for alignment.
  • Zinc-plated components for corrosion resistance, and they can be painted to match your radiator support or engine bay.
  • Latch assembly, mounting components, hardware and instructions in the kit.

Choose your option

  • With billet striker
  • Without billet striker

Fitment notes

Designed specifically for the 1967–1972 Ford F-100 factory hood latch system. It goes on at the factory mounting locations, so there is no cutting, welding or drilling.

For Off Road Use Only This product is not intended for use on public roads or highways.

Common questions

Which panel length do I need?

It depends on the handles you are keeping. If you are running the stock outside handles, choose the long panel option - the extra length is what reaches the factory handle linkage. If you are going to billet or hidden handles, the short panel is the one.

Will the doors still open from the outside?

Yes, provided you match the panel option to the handles you are running. Say which handles you have when you order if you are unsure and we will confirm the option before it ships.

How do I know it fits my truck?

This part is listed for 1967–1972 Ford F100. The full year, make and model list is in the Truck Compatibility tab on this page. If your truck has been modified, or you are between two of the year ranges we list, send us the year, make and model and we will confirm the fit before you order rather than after.

What if it is not right for the truck?

You have 30 days from delivery to return it by mail. Return shipping is on you, and the part needs to come back uninstalled and unmodified - once a panel has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back. Made-to-order items are final sale. The full terms are on our returns page.

Can I install this myself?

It is designed for a home install with ordinary hand tools, and the fitment notes on this page list anything that needs drilling, trimming or welding. Where an installation guide or video exists for the part it is linked in the Installation tab.
