1967-72 Chevy & GMC C10 Tailgate Parts
A 67-72 tailgate has four things that wear out and one thing that dates it. The four: the latch kit, the cables, the trunnion / hinge kit and the saver shocks that stop the gate from dropping like a guillotine when the cables finally let go. The cable and saver combo for 67-87 covers two of those in one order, which is how most people buy it.
The thing that dates it is the face. Billet tailgate letters replace the painted or missing originals, the raised license plate bracket for 67-87 gets the plate out of the middle of it, and billet tail light bezels and the sequential LED tail lights finish the panel either side. The Tail Light Fuel Filler is listed here too — it lives behind that same tail light, and it is the reason a lot of these tailgates get rebuilt in the first place.
