LS Fabrications "Gate Saver" or Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut 1973-1980 GMC Chevy Truck adds a little bit of modern luxury to your classic Squarebody truck.

The LS Fab "Gate Saver" slows the tailgate opening action allowing your tailgate to open freely after unlatching. You can now have a tailgate that opens, closes and latches like a brand new Chevy pickup.

Our Tailgate Assist Shock/Strut 1973-1980 GMC Chevy Truck kit includes:

  • ★ The dampener
  • ★ 2x balls studs
  • ★ LS Fab Stainless Support Bracket
  • ★ Jam nut for an easy install.

*Minor Trimming of the tailgate and an M8 tap are required for install*

**Removing your factory link arm will lessen the ability of your tailgate to handle a lot of weight. This product is not intended for customers requiring their tailgate to handle weight.**

    It is really cool love it ! A little hard to get measured up but I got it ! Drilled a hole I little big but luckily got it to work with the hard ware they give in the set
