ABS Headliner – 47-⁠53 GMC Chevy Truck

Description

This ABS headliner kit replaces the cardboard headliner in the cab of a 1947–⁠1953 Chevy or GMC truck. The panels are molded ABS in black, and which kit you need depends on which cab your truck has.

Features

• Made from 1/16" ABS plastic to replace the factory cardboard.
• Black in colour with a haircell texture finish.

Choose your cab

• 1947 to early 1949 — comes with (4) ABS pieces.
• Unicorn cab — comes with its own kit. This cab falls between the early and late 1949 cabs. Its weatherstrip rubber trim is held by the newer slide-in retainer spot welded to the cab interior face, and its roof center trim is still the screw-in type, sitting closer to the front windshield than on the later years.
• Late 1949 to 1953 — comes with (2) ABS pieces.

Fitment notes

This kit does not include the center and rear metal bow strips.

The 1947 to early 1949 and late 1949 to 1953 cabs share the same identifying marks: a floating center trim that slides over the front panel with the rear panel sliding into the back of it, weather stripping in a welded channel around the door that slides into place with no screw fasteners, a center trim set further back in the cab, and no factory filler strips on the pillars between the windshield and door weather stripping. Some of these trucks still have center roof supports, some have none, and no center trim screws into them either way. The Unicorn cab is the one that differs — if that is what you have, order the Unicorn kit.

Not included

• The centre and rear metal bow strips.
• Paint, fabric or adhesive. The panels are black haircell ABS and can be left exposed, painted, or covered.
• Pick the kit that matches your cab: 1947 to early 1949 comes as four pieces, late 1949 to 1953 as two, and the Unicorn cab between them has its own kit.
