Description
These Apicella Designs trunnions take the place of the tailgate trunnions on a 1947–1953 Chevrolet or GMC pickup and carry the taillights inside them. The tailgate pivot and the rear lighting become one part, so the stock taillights come off the truck and the back end cleans right up.

This is a bolt-on replacement. The trunnions go on where the originals came off, so the tailgate mounts and the taillights are handled in one pass.

Is it a bolt-on?
Yes. It replaces the factory trunnions and goes on where the originals came off.
Will it quiet the tailgate down?
That is what it is for. The trunnions run on Delrin, so the gate opens and closes quietly instead of grinding, and the metal parts are stainless steel or billet aluminum, so they do not rust.
Is mounting hardware included?
It depends on the kit - the Features list on this page says whether hardware is included, optional or reused from your truck.
How do I know it fits my truck?

How long before it ships?
It is a stock item and generally ships within 1-3 business days. Carrier transit time is on top of that, and larger orders can arrive in more than one box on different days.
What if it is not right for the truck?
You have 30 days from delivery to request a return. The part needs to come back new, uninstalled and in its original packaging - once a part has been trimmed or welded it cannot go back.
