Swapping the factory exterior door handles on a 1967-1972 Chevy C10 for the Delmo Speed billet handles — a bolt-in job through the two access holes in the door, with a little trimming to get the button travel right.

The 67-72 billet door handles replace the factory handles using the same two mounting bolts. Nothing is cut in the door skin on these trucks. The one place that usually needs attention is the button rod, because fifty years of use leaves every factory lever sitting slightly differently.

Install steps

1. Remove the interior door panel. Everything else is reached from inside the door.
2. Take the factory handle off. There are two bolts holding the exterior handle, reached through the two access points in the door.
3. Sort out the button travel. Because of how much use these handles have had, you may need to trim the rod on the billet handle button, or bend the factory lever, to get proper operation. Take a little at a time and keep checking.
4. Stick the clear gaskets on. They go on the back of the billet handle, then the handle goes on the door.
5. Test before you close it up. Work the handles and check they operate properly before the door panels and trim go back on.
